Annual Workshop & Trade Show brought members from across the state together for four days of learning, networking, and fun. Workshop Chair Ryan Jenkins and his committee made sure there was something for everyone at the event, help April 12-15 in Columbus.
Wednesday’s opening keynote speaker, Mark Scharenbrioch, began the workshop on a positive note, explaining that really connecting with your colleagues and boards can make all the difference in both your happiness and theirs when it comes to the work environment.
Wednesday evening, attendees broke out the boots and buckles for the OASBO Rodeo. Thanks to the Silent Auction, 50-50 Raffle, and unexpected proceeds raised to encourage mechanical bull riding, members raised an unprecedented $14,000 for the Ohio Association of Foodbanks in order to help fight childhood hunger.
Each year, Mike Sharb and Rick Manoloff raise the bar on their Thursday morning legal update, and this year was certainly no exception. Taking their cue from beloved

sketches, the pair – along with various OASBO members and staff – provided legal highlights while keeping thigs light.
Thursday afternoon, attendees walked the aisles of the Trade Show, where over 150 vendors waited to answer questions and help solve problems.
Wrapping up the event on Friday, body language expert Jan Hargrave kept everyone alert and engaged by explaining how to spot a liar and what different handshakes actually mean. Aaron Roush and Howard Fleeter provided updates on the budget and school funding, and Kara Brown rounded out the session by explaining the importance of mastering Crucial Conversations.
Many thanks to the attendees, volunteers, and vendors who make this amazing event possible. We hope to see everyone back in Columbus for the 2017 Annual Workshop & Trade Show April 25-28!
